Box Tops Competition
January 16 – February 9, we will be having a 4-week Box Tops Competition. Each week, the winning class will be rewarded with the Box Tops travelling trophy. The class that brings in the most Box Tops during the course of the competition will receive a popsicle party. If we reach our goal of $1000 in Box Tops, the whole school will have a Crazy Hair Day in February.
For more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, go to BTFE.com. Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers.
Vote on February 13th
Two School Measures Will Be on the February 13th Ballot.
Voters will consider the approval of an Educational Programs Levy and a Technology Capital Projects Levy.
The Educational Programs Levy would replace a similar measure that was called an Educational Maintenance and Operations Levy when it was approved by voters in 2014. That levy is scheduled to expire at the end of 2018. The new four-year levy, which would be in place from 2019 through 2022, will pay for programs and activities that are not funded by the state.
The Technology Capital Projects Levy would also be in place for four years and would collect a total of $22 million to increase student access to classroom technology, modernize computers used by students and staff, expand the fiber optic and wireless networks in schools, and modernize classroom presentation technology, such as projectors and screens.
More details about the two proposals, such as their impact on property taxes, are available in the Fact Sheet below.

Staff Appreciation Lunch
We plan to show our ME Staff how much they are appreciated with a Valentine's Day themed lunch. The PTSA will provide sandwiches, salads and other deli lunch type items. We are in need of some extras to make our luncheon extra special! We would be very appreciative of any Valentine-themed food items you would be willing to bake or donate. Homemade items are graciously accepted. Please drop these items off in the front office on the morning of Wednesday, February 14, at 9:00 am, marked "Teacher Appreciation." Please sign up here to help us plan for your donations.
MEPTSA is excited to support the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students). All dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers are encouraged to spend a day (or half-day) at ME to be a positive role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
During the school year, use our Sign Up Genius page to volunteer for this great program!
