We are incredibly thankful for all of our volunteers this year!
It's that time of year to recognize a few of our amazing volunteers with the PTSA Golden Acorn Award, given to individuals who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our school community. This award is given to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description. Please help us by nominating someone you think deserves this recognition. Nominations are due by 11:59 pm, MAY 1ST. Our 2023 PTSA Nominating Committee is proud to present our slate of officers for next year's Executive Positions.
Please join us at our last general membership meeting on Monday, May 15th to elect these officers in. Thank you ALL for your campaign efforts! Because of your support, we are able to get candidates for all Executive Board positions for the 2023-2024 school year. We couldn't have done this without you! THANK YOU FOR SOARING AROUND THE GLOBE WITH M.E!
Our Multicultural Night was on March 30th from 6:00-8:00 PM. We were delighted and humbled by the support we felt from our school and local community. It was an amazing night to see our Falcon Families come together in sharing different cultural food samples, games/activities, books and traditions that represent our unique family backgrounds. We were also treated to cultural performances on stage by local cultural groups. Coast Salish spiritual practitioner, SiSwinKlae/Laurel Boucher, shared stories and songs of her ancestors. Mexican dance group, Grupo Folklorico Herencias Mexicanas, showcased their traditional folk dances and shared with us their beautiful attire on stage. Nicole Suyama of Red Eagle Soaring Native Youth Theater shared songs and dances of the Indigenous People, with our very own students engaged in the dance circle. With a heartfelt thank you to all who had attended and to all of our volunteers who came and assisted during setup, table hosting, and cleanup! We have completed our Read 4 Adventure program and it is now time to turn in those minutes! Please click on the Student Submission link, which will take you to a few questions to fill out with your student.
Submissions must be turned in by April 15th. * Students who have completed 8 hours (480 minutes) of reading in can earn a voucher for High Trek Adventures locations (Everett or Chelan) or our indoor facility, Game On NW. Contact your teacher or Read 4 Adventure Program Coordinator with any questions. Thank you to all the M.E. families for attending STEAM night last Thursday. We hope you had a great time with your students enjoying a variety of science, tech, engineering, art, and math activities!
We are so thankful to our community organizations who provided their time and expertise: Snohomish PUD, Mathnasium, Orca Network, Sno-Isle Library, and Snohomish Conservation District. And of course, a huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped set up, cleanup, and run the activity stations. We couldn’t have done it without you! Here are some highlights from our Full STEAM Ahead Family Night 2023. Hope to see you again next year!! This year, Mukilteo Elementary students from all grade levels participated in the National PTA Reflections Arts Program. The theme this year was “Show Your Voice!”. Students had the opportunity to create original works of art and incorporate the theme into literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts. A workshop was hosted at the beginning of January in the atrium after school and the turnout was great. Around 20 students showed up and created art as they interpreted the theme. They also created an artist statement which explained their work. We are so excited to have 11 submissions this year! Since we can send 8 pieces to Washington State PTA for the next stage, the PTSA Officers judged each piece anonymously according to the program guidelines to select the top 8 projects. Every artist who submitted a project is receiving a certificate and ribbon (in teacher mailboxes). At last night's PTSA meeting, we honored the top 3 artists: Hailey Evans, Hana Dau, and Josephine Lee. We are so proud of all of the students who participated! Friends and family are welcome to view artwork displayed in our Student Gallery in the Mukilteo Elementary front office! Or check out the slideshow or video! Thank you so much for supporting our school during Winter Book Fair! It was such a blast seeing so many happy faces with books in hands at our Cocoa & Cookies Family Shopping Night! HUGE THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAD ATTENDED AND SUPPORTED OUR STUDENTS AT AUCTION 2022! This will tremendously help fund our PTSA programs and events. Your generosity and support makes an impactful difference in the enrichment of our Mukilteo Elementary community. Once again, we couldn't have reached this milestone without our sponsors and donors. THANK YOU! Falcon Families, Administrators and Teachers-
The Mukilteo Elementary PTSA (ME PTSA) knows that a strong partnership among our families, school leaders and community members is important to the success of our students and school. We were honored to be one of three schools in the state of Washington designated as a School of Excellence last year. We are once again participating in the National PTA School of Excellence program because we are committed to maintaining and growing partnerships between our PTSA and our school to continue to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students. As a National PTA School of Excellence, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTSA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. We feel Mukilteo Elementary and ME PTSA can continue to achieve that together—and the result will be national, state and community-wide visibility for the positive impact we are making together at M.E. We need your help! As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. Your feedback will help us improve our family-school partnership and achieve excellence. This survey is completely anonymous. Please return this survey to your student’s teacher or to the ME PTSA President mailbox in the M.E. office by Thursday, November 10th. You may also choose to take the survey online. Dear Families, Administrators and Teachers:
Mukilteo Elementary PTSA (ME PTSA) is continuing our participation in the National PTA School of Excellence program to grow our family-school partnerships and enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students in our community. As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. We used results from the first survey to identify an action plan for continuous improvement. Your initial survey responses let us know that our families need more support as their students transition into kindergarten, out of 5th grade, and into the district’s specialty programs based at our school. In early April, we held our first Family Connect sessions for Middle School and Summit Program transitions. Next week, we will hold a Family Connect session for Kindergarten, to connect new and experienced families through ME PTSA. We hope to continue building on these points of connections, and strengthening our existing efforts to create a strong community where everyone belongs and every student thrives. Now it is time for our second survey! We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, and kindly ask for your feedback once again. Your responses will not only help us show our improvements but will also provide us with more information as we continue to build upon our efforts to enhance family-school partnerships in the future. Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at this school and share your feedback by Friday, May 27th. You can return the paper survey to your student’s teacher, or complete the survey online. Please choose the response that most accurately expresses how you feel about your experience. This survey is completely anonymous, and we encourage you to share any additional feedback online, or attached to the paper survey. If anyone needs a translated survey, they are available in Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), French, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Sincerely, Erin Senge President, ME PTSA |
